About Thorncliffe Home Care
Our home care business provides a domiciliary care service supporting people in the North East, helping them to develop life skills and enable them to lead a fulfilled and independent life. Based in Sunderland, we operate throughout the North East.
Our service users, the elderly, people with physical disabilities, people with mild mental health issues and learning difficulties including Dementia have a range of home care needs.
We have experience of providing care to service users from the age of 18.
Domiciliary care can help people who find it difficult to cope with domestic responsibilities or their own personal care needs because of increasing age or disability – whether a long-term disability, learning difficulty or short-term disability.
Our independent home care service provides care to our service users in their own home, out in the community or as part of a more comprehensive supported living service. Our focus is to support people, helping them to be as independent as possible.
What we offer
We pride ourselves in putting the needs of the individual first, putting you in control of your care. We tailor our social care service to help you in the best way possible – for as little or as long as you want. Home visits can range from a 30-minute call once a day to 24-hour care, seven days a week.
For those who require additional care, a small team of carers is allocated to the service user on a long-term basis, undertaking daily care or waking services, to suit your needs. We understand that the relationship between you and your carer is important – so you’ll always have a major say in which carers make up that team.
When it comes to the care package we provide, no job is too small – our help can be anything from carrying out housework including ironing and bed changing to feeding and walking pets, shopping and collecting prescriptions or paying bills.
Thorncliffe Home Care can make meal times run smoothly by assisting with meal preparation and we provide personal care such as bathing, showering, washing, shaving, dressing and going to the toilet.
We provide high quality domiciliary services within the City of Sunderland, Washington and surrounding districts. These include:

We support and care for our service users in two main ways.
For those people that may have lost their ways of independence through old age, physical disability, mental ill health issues or sensory impairment – we help them regain much of their independence and support them to gain a sense of independence and the freedom they desire.
For those people that have a learning disability, have been physically disabled for most of their life, or have mental ill health, or sensory impairments – we help them gain a sense of independence and freedom they desire.
